Franklin Planner's flagship binder.
Considered the "finest" of all leathers, cordovan is a rare and highly prized leather obtained from the horse's rump. Its unique luster and fine texture have earned it the nickname "leather diamond."
Water-dyed cordovan, which is dyed with an even more precious dye, gives the leather a translucent appearance. When held up to light, the color shines through, creating a truly exquisite product.
This cordovan is dyed using the finest dye technology from Redel Ogawa, a company specializing in cordovan.
Compared to pigment dyes and oil finishes, dye dyes use a water-soluble dye, resulting in a more pronounced color depth.
While retaining the color depth and texture of cordovan, the leather is translucent and so beautiful that pores (pinholes) are virtually invisible, demonstrating outstanding dyeing techniques. The leather used on the interior is tanned using a combination of chrome and tannin.
This smooth leather, rich in tannins, has the firmness of tanned leather and the flexibility of chrome.
